There was palpable shock among the residents of Moss Side today (September 16) following the tragic news a 15-year-old schoolboy had been stabbed to death on their doorstep.

Greater Manchester Police were called to Moss Lane East at around 4.30pm on Monday (September 15). On arrival, officers found a teenager with ‘multiple stab wounds’.

The youth, who has not yet been named, was taken to hospital but later sadly pronounced dead.

Police swiftly launched a murder investigation and confirmed overnight that another 15-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

The Manchester Evening News understands that the incident took place during a ‘disturbance’ involving multiple individuals on the street.
