An alleged murder victim died after suffering multiple stab wounds to his chest, a pre-inquest hearing was told.
Kailem Reece Gibson, a 28-year-old father from Newton Heath, suffered fatal injuries during an alleged attack at a home on Gilmerton Drive in Newton Heath, east Manchester, shortly before 7.25pm on Friday, August 29.
Today (September 16) Manchester City Area Coroner Michael Appleton formally opened inquest proceedings at Manchester Coroners' Court.
At the pre-inquest hearing, Mr Appleton revealed brief details of Mr Gibson and his death provided to him in a report by police coroners' officer Liz Davis. The court heard Mr Gibson 'sadly died' at Manchester Royal Infirmary on August 30, the day after the alleged attack.
