A man has been jailed for 30 months after a woman was badly injured in an assault in Motherwell town centre.
Luke McKillop shoved the woman causing her to fall back and strike her head against a wall. A member of the public rushed to help and found her head "soaked in blood".
Dad of three McKillop, 39, will be under supervision for a year when he is freed from prison . He admitted assaulting the woman to her severe injury in Brandon Parade East on October 1 last year. He also admitted spitting on a police officer.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard McKillop has previous convictions and was on early release from prison at the time. He was also subject to a supervision order. The assault happened around 4.30pm and was captured by CCTV cameras.
