Our city has always welcomed people from around the world, and with them some incredible foods, and one often overlooked restaurant is now in the running to be named the best in the UK.

Damasqino, which specialises in Lebanese cuisine and is found on the High Street, has just been named a semi-finalist for the 14th British Kebab Awards.

Founded in 2013 by restaurateur and community campaigner Ibrahim Dogus, the Awards celebrate the very best kebab restaurants and takeaways across the United Kingdom.

Now in its 14th year, the British Kebab Awards recognise excellence across 20 categories, from Best Regional Kebab Restaurant to Best Takeaway and Newcomer of the Year.
