LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville woman is facing multiple charges after hitting a police cruiser in a DUI crash near the Kentucky Exposition Center on Sunday.

Bernita Bennett, 63, is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, possession of open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, improperly turning/driving lane or entering limited access, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, and first-degree criminal mischief.

According to her arrest citation, a Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) officer who was directing traffic at Gate 2 of the Expo Center on Crittenden Drive saw Bennett using the center turn lane as a driving lane around 11 p.m. on Sept. 14.

The officer then witnessed her crash into the front of an LMPD cruiser, the citation continued
