LEAVENWORTH COUNTY, Kan. (KCTV) - On Tuesday, the Leavenworth County Attorney’s Office announced the conviction of a 19-year-old who crashed her car while running from police.

On March 4, 2025, Jaden E. Haynes, 19, of Leavenworth, was seen driving with no headlights, speeding and changing lanes without using a turn signal.

An officer with the Leavenworth Police Department tried to pull her over, but said she drove away, reaching speeds of nearly 90 miles per hour. The officer stopped following and turned off any lights and sirens.

A short time later, officers found Haynes’s vehicle crashed at 10th and Eisenhower Road. She tried to run away, but stopped when officers told her to and was arrested without further incident.
