The cost of living in Manitoba is set to rise further after the Public Utilities Board (PUB) issued a decision today approving substantial rate increases for Centra Gas and signalling higher electricity rates under the Wab Kinew government.
PUB’s decision on Centra Gas Manitoba Inc.’s 2024/25 General Rate Application finalizes a 4.5% revenue increase that has been in effect since November 1, 2024. It also approves a further 4.5% increase effective November 1, 2025, and a 4.0% increase effective November 1, 2026. These hikes apply only to distribution (non-gas) costs.
