GRAND RAPIDS, MI - ArtPrize, Grand Rapids’ annual international art competition, is set to return this week.

Starting Thursday, Sept. 18, locals and visitors will encounter entries from 930 artists at 155 venues throughout downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.

Observers can then vote on which artists should take home a piece of $375,000 in prize money.

2025 marks the 15th anniversary of ArtPrize being hosted in the Grand Rapids area. Initially developed in 2009 by Rick DeVos, the founder who later became chairman of the renowned event, ArtPrize is now run by a group comprising Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., the city of Grand Rapids, and Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University.
