SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - A Texas DPS Trooper was killed in the line of duty responding to assist a fellow officer, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association.
Texas State Rep. Janis Holt identified the trooper as Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr.
According to Holt, Trooper Adamick served 21 years with the U.S. Army and had graduated from the Texas DPS Academy a little more than a year ago.
“Trooper Adamick exemplified the courage, dedication, and selflessness that define DPS,” said Rep. Holt.
“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of one of our own who exemplified courage, dedication, and selfless service to the people of Texas. We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to his family, friends, and fellow Troopers during this difficult time,” Texas D
