A 38-year-old Maricopa man was arrested Sunday after police said he broke cement blocks out of walls and entered several backyards in Rancho El Dorado. He claimed he was just trying to find his cat, but police say they found methamphetamine and brass knuckles.
Officers responded around 10 a.m. morning to reports of a man trying to get into a yard near Alexandra Court, according to police records. Witnesses said the suspect, later identified as Samuel Finkley, was seen looking into homes and opening a sliding door at one residence late Saturday night. Security cameras picked up a figure, believed to be Finkley, hopping fences between homes on Chisholm Drive and Alexandra Court.
Two residents pressed criminal trespass charges. At least five homeowners reported damage along their back walls
