FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Tow truck drivers across the Commonwealth and around the nation are standing behind a bill to add rear-facing blue lights to tow trucks after losing several of their own.
It’s been almost a year since tow truck driver Troy Caldwell was struck and killed while working on the side of I-64 in Bath County.
The bill didn’t advance during last year’s session, but on Tuesday, it was heard at a committee meeting.
Bubba Johnson owns and operates his own towing business, Bubba’s Towing & Recovery.
He is the driving force behind Bill Request 33.
