Pittsburgh International Airport’s reputation among travelers appears to be rising as it prepares to open its $1.7 billion new terminal.
The airport ranks near the middle of the pack for customer satisfaction among medium-sized airports across the continent, according to J.D. Power’s latest North America Airport Satisfaction Study, which rates airports on a 1,000-point scale based on 30,439 passenger surveys over the past year.
The survey focuses on six factors: Airport accessibility, check-in and baggage handling, security, food, beverage and retail options, facilities and baggage claim.
Pittsburgh International scored a 639, tied with John Glenn Columbus International Airport and just below the average score of 656. Indianapolis International Airport led the field with a score of 713,
