COLUMBUS, Neb. (KOLN) - One person is in custody after a deadly shooting in Columbus Tuesday night.
Columbus Police officers responded to a home near 22nd and 7th streets shortly before 8:40 p.m. on the report of a woman with a gunshot wound.
Arriving officers found the woman with a gunshot wound to the head, and she was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
During the investigation, officers took 25-year-old Jack Reeg, of Columbus, into custody. He’s accused of second-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and terroristic threats.
According to Interim Police Chief Bret Strecker, Reeg was taken to the police station and questioned.
