As we enter another week of September, the dry conditions continue to remain across Eastern North Carolina. The latest drought update for the region highlights a moderate drought developing in parts of Beaufort, Craven, Edgecombe, and Martin counties. Outside of the moderate drought, abnormally dry conditions persist.

Last week’s update from the week of September 11th, we saw abnormally dry conditions for all of ENC, despite the few showers we saw.

Heading into the weekend, rain will be absent until Sunday afternoon and evening, as a coastal low will be riding up the East Coast, bringing a few showers to the area.
