LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers does more than lead his staff, just ask two Kinston residents.
Wednesday evening, the sheriff stopped a car with a temporary license plate that was speeding and driving recklessly on Highway 70 near the Highway 148 overpass.
Sheriff Rogers said the driver did not have a valid driver’s license or the car’s registration. Deputies then discovered it was stolen from Virginia.
The driver, Swade Paris, 33, of Kinston, was charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, driving while license revoked, and speeding.
His passenger, Quinasia Coward, 21, of Kinston, was charged with an outstanding order for arrest.
Both are in the Lenoir County Jail, with Paris placed on a $2,500 secured bond and Coward on a $1,000 secured
