Police have made a number of arrests in a crackdown on knife crime and youth violence in Coventry . Officers have been deployed across the city as part of Project Guardian.

Almost 1,000 hours of patrols were conducted in youth violence hotspots throughout August. Weapons and Class A drugs were seized, and a number of people were arrested.

Officers recently patrolled FarGo Village, Hillfields , Riley Square and Hillmorton. Suspects were stopped, and a machete, nitrous oxide canisters, and 38 wraps of Class A drugs were found.

A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He was taken into custody for questioning.
