BURLINGTON, N.C. — One person was seriously injured Thursday evening after a crash on Forestdale Drive in Burlington.

According to the Burlington Police Department, officers were called to the 3100 block of Forestdale Drive at 8:27 p.m. on Thursday. When officers arrived on scene, they found multiple vehicles were involved in the accident.

One person from one of the vehicles suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Police say one of the cars involved in the crash was involved in a separate crash just moments before on the 3500 block of Forestdale Drive.

Traffic on Forestdale Drive was closed for several hours on Thursday. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
