The Met Office has issued an update for this weekend's two-day yellow rain warning, reducing the size of its alert zone across Scotland. While previously, much of the Central Belt and Borders were forecast to face downpours of up to 100mm, very few areas of the country remain under the yellow warning, which now predicts lesser rainfall of up to 80mm.
The updated warning zone, which stretches up the Scottish Borders in a diagonal line, still encompasses some areas of the east coast such as Dunbar, as well as areas of the Borders including Dumfries, Moffat and Lockerbie. The Met Office has stated that changeable weather conditions mean the alert areas may change again, although the time frame for the warning- 9am on Saturday, September 20 to 6am on Sunday, S
