CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The family of the late Jason Myers , a WBTV meteorologist who was killed in a helicopter crash in November 2022, has reached a civil settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit , according to a statement released by the Myers family.

The settlement concludes the legal proceedings and is intended to compensate for Myers' lost income and future earning capacity, the family said. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Myers died in what his family described as "wrongful and preventable events."

"There is no acceptable amount of money that rights the wrongful and preventable events that robbed me of the Love of my life, our children of their father, and Jason's family of their son and brother," Jillian Myers, Jason's widow, said in the statement.
