EAST GRAND FORKS — The party was at Lake Eunice near Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Elizabeth York told her family, “No presents.” So, she was given something even better – a production. Elizabeth loved every minute of it.
“The (great) grand kids practiced all day,” she said. “They were acrobats, and they sang and they danced. It was just fun.”
Sept. 2, 2025, marked another significant milestone for Elizabeth York. It was her 101st birthday and everyone remembered. She smiles as she recalls some birthdays from her childhood.
“I was always in competition with the opening day of school,” Elizabeth said. “A couple times my whole family forgot my birthday because they were so excited about starting school. It was something I got used to. It didn’t happen very often.”
