LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - Two teenagers were killed and others were injured, including a Lafayette County Sheriff deputy, after a crash between a patrol car and a sedan, per the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 4 p.m. Friday on US Highway 27, just north of CR 537, according to a Saturday press release from FHP.
FHP said a sedan driving northbound on US 27 had two adults in the front seats and five minors in the back, ages ranging from 5 to 15.
Troopers said the sedan lost control and, for unknown reasons, crossed into the southbound lane where the patrol car was driving and crashed.
The patrol car’s front end struck the side of the sedan, leading to the right front passenger and four of the young people being ejected from the sedan during the crash, FHP said.
