WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - Hundreds of volunteers gathered at Woolley Park on Saturday for the annual Wakulla County Coastal Cleanup, hosted by the nonprofit organization Keep Wakulla County Beautiful (KWCB).
The event is the organization’s largest of the year and part of ongoing efforts to protect the region’s natural beauty. KWCB hosts regular cleanups throughout Wakulla County, targeting roadways, rivers, and forests, but the coastal cleanup draws the biggest crowd.
This year, about volunteers collected gallons of trash and debris along the coastline. They collected commonly found items, including plastic waste, bottles, and cigarette butts.
