FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. —

A man has been arrested for creating a foul smell at a South Carolina high school.

The Florence County Sheriff's Office arrested 32-year-old Alexander Paul Robertson Lewis, a teaching assistant at West Florence High School, after he allegedly sprayed something he bought on the internet that smells like feces.

Investigators say he sprayed it multiple times in the school from Aug. 25 through Sept. 19, causing a disruption. Students needed medical attention for respiratory issues, and the school spent $55,000 on inspections and damage to its AC system.

Lewis was charged with disturbing schools and malicious injury to property. He's being held at the Florence County Detention Center ahead of his bond hearing. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are possib
