COLUMBIA, S.C. —
On Saturday, approximately 200 soldiers from the South Carolina Army National Guard returned home.
The members of the 4th Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment have finished a more than 30-day support mission in Washington, D.C.
The S.C. National Guard was part of an effort that involved more than 2,000 members from several states.
"Our Soldiers' ability to jump right into this mission is a testament to their professionalism and resolve," said Lt. Col. Javier Yudice, commander, 4th Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment, South Carolina Army National Guard. "Our Soldiers and officers' abilities to step into leadership positions above their rank are a direct reflection of how we train."
The Georgia National Guard has assumed responsibility in Washington from South Carolina.
