KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say a team effort helped rescue a fairly large animal from a precarious spot in Kershaw County on Saturday.
The Kershaw County Fire Service said its crews, along with the Camden Fire Department and Kershaw County Animal Control were called to horse stuck in a pond around 8 a.m. Using what they described as "large animal rescue equipment" and a rope, Kershaw County crews were able to free the horse from the mud and the pond.
Officials said a local veterinarian arrived and checked the horse out after the ordeal. Officials said the check-up revealed no complications related to the predicament or the rescue.
