A group of ICE detainees at Angola State Penitentiary's new " Louisiana Lockup " have reportedly gone on hunger strike over lack of medical care, necessities and visitation.
The strike was reported by the National Immigration Project on Saturday. The group says the detainees have not been eating for the past four days.
The strikers were moved to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility at Angola earlier this month. The facility is a repurposed camp on the Angola grounds that was previously shuttered in 2018.
