BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - If you noticed a few roads closed down in Bismarck on Saturday, it was for the Bismarck Marathon.
This is the 44th year for the event. Organizers said this year’s marathon had more than 1,900 people register to participate in all of the races.
This is also the third year the marathon started at the Capitol.
“People have been really receptive to it. A lot of neighborhoods are involved now, so people come out and cheer,” said Andy Nielsen, organizer. “Before, it was kind of down at Cottonwood, kind of just out in the country area, not too many spectators, so this kind of brings Bismarck more into it.”
