NC State football saw itself leading Duke 20-7 midway through the second quarter.

By halftime, the Wolfpack (3-1, 1-1 ACC) were trailing 21-20, never regaining the lead in its 45-33 loss on the road on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Wallace Wade Stadium. It marks the Wolfpack 's first loss of the season and third-straight loss to Duke (2-2, 1-0 ACC).

The Blue Devils put up 14 unanswered points to close the first half, one of those touchdowns being the result of a CJ Bailey interception. On the night, Bailey was intercepted three times as N.C. State finished the night with four turnovers, the other being a fumble.

Heading into Saturday night, the Wolfpack had only turned the ball over once on the season, a lone Bailey interception in its season opener against East Carolina .
