HONOLULU (Island News) – A man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer in the Waikiki area on Saturday morning.

According to police documents, a 37-year-old man allegedly hit a Honolulu Police officer with his fist and a guitar. As a result of the incident, the police officer received injuries.

No information was provided regarding the extent of the officer’s injuries.

The 37-year-old man was arrested at 5:29 a.m. for Assault LEO in the First Degree.

The man remains in police custody, pending investigation.
