Texas Tech's Joey McGuire reacts to win, updates quarterback status
Texas Tech went on the road and made a statement with a 34–10 victory over Utah, a performance head coach Joey McGuire called one of his proudest.
“Man, we just came into a place that very few people come into and win games,” McGuire said. “Y’all know my woes as a head coach on the road. We’ve had a tough time. I thought our guys handled it like pros with an early kick and man, I couldn’t be more proud of what we did today.”
Quarterback Behren Morton left the game following a violent first-half hit, but McGuire quickly reassured his status. “He’s good. He was in the locker room, gave me a big hug, said congratulations,” McGuire said. “He’ll be back and be ready to go. He didn’t want to come out.
