Hunter Stratton had one of his finest outings of the season on Friday night for the Atlanta Braves in their 10-1 win over the Detroit Tigers.
The former Sullivan East High School star spun a perfect ninth inning to polish off the victory, needing just 11 pitches to do so.
Taking over for fellow reliever Tyler Kinley to begin the ninth inning, Stratton struck out Jace Jung and Trey Sweeney swinging, before getting Riley Greene on a 3-1 putout as he touched first base for the final out after taking the toss from first baseman Matt Olson.
Stratton also got time on the mound Saturday against the Tigers, allowing one run in an inning of work in Atlanta’s 6-5 victory. That run came on a solo homer by Zach McKinstry.
