Just when you thought it couldn’t get much worse, Optus’ litany of failures in its handling of a deadly triple-0 outage became even more evident today.
Optus spent the weekend as the target of intense ire from politicians, police and the public alike for its mishandling of the incident, which are linked to the deaths of three people, including two West Australians.
When the news of the outage broke on Friday night, WA Police, St John WA and the Cook Government were left scrambling to find answers after learning of the true extent — and consequences — of the outage at the same time as the media.
Premier Roger Cook confirmed the first his office heard about the news was late on Friday. His SA counterpart, Peter Malinauskas said the fact that his government was also kept in the dark until
