A 70-year-old man died Sept. 20 after a head-on crash north of Dover near Leipsic, Delaware State Police said.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Dyke Branch Road, west of Wheel of Fortune Road. Investigators said the man was driving a Honda Accord eastbound when he crossed into the opposite lane while approaching a curve. A Volvo S40, driven by a 16-year-old Dover boy heading westbound, swerved to avoid the Honda, but the Accord re-entered its lane, resulting in a head-on impact.

Officials said the driver of the Honda was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

The teen driver suffered minor injuries. His passenger, a 45-year-old Dover woman, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries
