PHOENIX — A memorial for Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale will attract Republican leaders coming in from throughout the country to mourn the loss of the conservative activist.
Kirk, 31, was assassinated on a Utah college campus earlier this month and his body was transported back to Arizona where Kirk's family lived. Turning Point USA, which Kirk co-founded, has its headquarters based in Phoenix.
Following Kirk's death, public memorials were set up in the Valley and a candlelight vigil was held on the ASU campus.
A top podcaster and ally of President Donald Trump, Kirk was credited for helping to energize a growing movement among young conservatives.
Security is expected to be heightened at State Farm Stadium on Sunday and the Glendale Police Department is anticipating
