MINNEAPOLIS — A man has died following an overnight shooting in Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to a shooting report near Chicago Avenue and East Franklin Avenue just before midnight on Saturday.
The press release states that a 911 caller reported hearing a single gunshot and seeing a man collapse.
Shortly after, the man was brought into Hennepin Healthcare with at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite the life-saving measures, the man died at the hospital.
Authorities believe that the shooting resulted from an altercation. A possible suspect reportedly fled the scene.
