After several weeks of a paucity of precipitation, the National Weather Service is calling for a chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight in Northeast Ohio.

According to NWS, widely scattered thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening could produce localized gusty winds. Today's high is expected to reach 86 degrees, with a low of 63, with a chance precipitation at 60%.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. There is the potential for strong winds and locally heavy rainfall with the strongest storms. Showers are likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. The expected high will be near 79, with a chance of precipitation at 90%.
