UPDATE: A Red Bank family has been displaced from their home by a fire that broke out Sunday afternoon, the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management said.

Around 2:00pm, a driver called 911 reporting heavy, black smoke coming from an apartment on California Avenue.

Red Bank firefighters responded to the duplex to find heavy smoke coming from the attic and front of the house.

Crews confirmed everyone was out of the house as they entered to attack the fire in the living room and bedroom. Nobody was injured.

The fire department is now investigating the cause of the fire, which caused $80,000 in damages.

The American Red Cross is now helping the two adults and three children with their emergency needs, HCOEM said.
