A driver is accused of stabbing a passenger in his car last weekend on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit, Michigan State Police said.

The domestic assault occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday near West Grand Boulevard, the MSP Second District said in a post on X.

A 40-year-old man from Farmington Hills and an Orchard Lake resident were driving when they had an argument, MSP said.

The 44-year-old woman threw a drink and a liquor bottle at him, according to investigators.

He responded by using a knife and stabbing her multiple times, state police reported.

The man was held at the Detroit Detention Center. The woman was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, MSP said.

The incident remains under investigation.
