Former KSTP-TV anchor Stan Turner has died at age 81 following a three-year cancer battle.
Turner died Sunday evening at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul, where he had been in hospice, family spokesperson Tom Oszman told Bring Me The News on Monday.
"He was a man of integrity, wisdom, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge," his three children said in a statement. "His love of journalism led him to become one of the Twin Cities most recognized and respected anchormen."
Turner grew up in St. Louis Park and graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1962. He studied journalism at the University of Minnesota, then he spent his entire career in the Twin Cities.
