State health officials are breaking from the recently updated federal recommendation for COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced Monday that rather than following the latest Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance, it is instead endorsing recommendations from professional medical associations for the 2025-26 vaccine, which is beginning to arrive at clinics and pharmacies across the state.
Guidance from the associations – American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) – recommends that all people over 6-months-old should have the option of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine without additional barriers.
