KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WNDU) - A Kalamazoo Central High School football player is being punished after a video of him injuring a Lakeshore High School player during a junior varsity football game last week went viral.

The game happened last Thursday. The video shows the Kalamazoo Central player knocking the Lakeshore player down, then getting up and jumping on top of him while he’s lying on the ground.

According to the Lakeshore player’s mother, he has two broken vertebrae in his lower spine. She tells WNDU 16 News Now he’s lucky he’ll be able to walk again.
