BARTONVILLE, Ill. – A Limestone High School student was taken into custody Monday afternoon after allegedly being in possession of a weapon inside the building.

Superintendent Keith Brown says administration received the report at around 1:00 P.M., and immediately contacted Bartonville Police. He says the student was allegedly found with a weapon within minutes of the initial report and immediately taken into custody.

Brown says the district will not be releasing the student’s name at this time, and the case has been turned over to Bartonville Police and the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office.
