MAPLEWOOD, Minn — Ramsey County prosecutors have criminally charged a woman after a rollover crash that killed her child.

Rachale Francine Peloquin, 28, of St. Paul, was charged with criminal vehicular homicide in connection with a crash Saturday evening on a ramp in Maplewood that killed her 1-year-old son, according to the criminal complaint.

Prosecutors said Peloquin lost control of her Chevy Tahoe just before 6:30 p.m. on eastbound Highway 36 near the southbound ramp to Highway 61. A state trooper spoke to a "witness who said the Tahoe spun out, rolled over multiple times and landed upside down" in a swampy pond 30 feet off the road.
