SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame football team picked up its first win of the season this weekend after beating Purdue 56-30, but the result wasn’t perfect.

It was a great day for the offense as the Irish put up over 530 yards of total offense, and running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price combined for six touchdowns, with Price scoring a career-high four scores.

But the defense is still a major area of concern. The Irish allowed Purdue to throw for over 300 yards and are now giving up an average of 32.7 points per game, which ranks 118th in the nation.

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman addressed the problems on that side of the ball during his weekly news conference on Monday afternoon.
