SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Morningside University and the Sioux City Community School District have agreed to an eight-year lease for the Morningside baseball team to use the baseball field at Sioux City East High School.

The Sioux City School Board (SCCSD) approved the agreement with a vote of five to two. Board members Treyla Lee and Earl Miller opposed the project, while Dan Greenwell, Bob Michaelson, Jan George, and John Meyers all approved.

As part of the lease agreement, Morningside will replace the infield with turf. The estimated cost is $495,000.
