Monchi is set to leave Aston Villa, with official confirmation expected shortly.

The club’s President of Football Operations has served just over two years since his appointment in the summer of 2023.

During that time , he has overseen five transfer windows - most recently the summer 2025 window, which followed the disappointment of Villa missing out on Champions League qualification.

A close ally of Unai Emery, Monchi previously worked alongside him at Sevilla, where the duo won Europa League titles. Damian Vidagany completed the trio at Villa, forming a strong leadership group.
