It may be fall, but Massachusetts will see conditions more akin to summer for most of the day Tuesday, thanks to a warm and increasingly humid airmass.

High temperatures should reach up to the upper 70s or low 80s for most of the state, according to the National Weather Service. Coupled with climbing dewpoints, Tuesday will feel "like a summer day with warm and humid conditions."

But the warmth may not last long, as a cold front is expected to arrive in the region Tuesday afternoon. The front will “serve as a focus for scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the interior after 2 p.m.,” forecasters wrote.

The chances of a severe storm are rather low, but there is a chance for locally heavy rainfall, forecasters wrote.
