Warm, sunny, late summer weather in Massachusetts will give way to thunderstorms and rain halfway through the week this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Bay staters can expect sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s on Monday, the weather service predicts. Monday night lows are expected to dip into the mid to upper 50s across the state.

Tuesday is predicted to begin with even more summery, warm weather with highs reaching the upper 70s and low 80s amid mostly clear skies, according to the weather service. A slight chance of thunderstorms is expected across Massachusetts after 5 p.m., and chances of both thunderstorms and showers increase later into the evening.
