The opportunities to be active in Colorado are almost limitless, and a new study says the benefits are substantial for the state’s seniors.

The study by Seniorly , an online marketplace for families looking for senior living, ranked all 50 states and the District of Columbia on how well someone could live an active lifestyle in their later years. The study measured access to recreation activities, healthiness of seniors and other factors to develop the rankings.

Colorado ranked in the top 10 in the country for five of the six metrics:

Fewest physically inactive seniors: 20.9% (rank #1)

Population living within 1/2 mile of a park: 82.3% (rank #4)

Gyms and fitness centers: 107 per 100,000 seniors (rank #4)

Seniors in good or excellent health: 80.7% (rank #5)

Life expectancy at 65: 1
