The Coalition is embroiled in yet another internal spat, after Liberal frontbencher Andrew Hastie took to social media attacking the “nameless cowards” and “muppets” in the party who anonymously criticised him.

The would-be leader of the Liberal Party took to Instagram over the weekend posing next to a red 1969 Ford Falcon bemoaning the loss of local manufacturing and suggested Australia had become “a nation of flat-white makers”.

Late on Monday night, Mr Hastie’s attention turned to anonymous comments made by fellow Liberal MPs provided to The Australian, who questioned who had funded the “well produced video” given a “federal parliament salary is modest”.
